A piano is a wonderfully complex machine with tens of thousands of parts. The parts are surprisingly durable, given the extreme forces they encounter. Still, some parts will eventually wear out, shift out of alignment, or even break, requiring maintenance beyond regular tunings. This type of work can range from small scale cleaning and repair jobs to full-scale reconditioning and regulation projects.
